Consumer Girl: Welcome to my Blog

Have you ever bought a product you absolutely regretted buying because you lacked information or were sadly misinformed? On the other hand have you bought items you wish you could still get more of?

Truth be told, I have done both on a number of occasions. Over the years, I have learned to do my homework – lots of research and learn something new every time I contemplate making a purchase. This is true whether it’s new, used, bought on-line or in person.

One day I thought: I would really like to share this with you and hear what you have to say.

Who am I?

Let me introduce myself. My name is Elaine, but you can call me Lainey and I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

I love Antiques, Pinterest, eBay, research, reading, shopping and more. I always try to find that “IT” item and sometimes it takes a while to find. I am not one to settle on just mediocre. Old or used is ok if it’s quality made.

I like to know what I am buying, where it is made and what materials it is made of so I can make a good decision about the product. Sadly I often find retailers understaffed and staff often undertrained and way too often misinformed about the products and services they sell.

I won’t limit myself to just one group of products. I’m open to discuss gadgets, products, and other interesting consumer topics.

Some of the posts I’m working on include: how to keep our cheese fresher and what “sateen” is and why you should avoid products that contain it.

Please come along my journey.   Together I hope we can become more informed, interested and wiser consumers and maybe have a few laughs too. I welcome your feedback and experiences.

I’m just getting set up on Social Media, but feel free to follow me on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/consumerlainey/

  2. Thank you. Lainey was my nickname way back and it seemed to recently resurface. It seems to fit with the blog, :). You can call me whichever you want.

  3. Thanks for writing this informative article. I’m a long time reader however I’ve never been compelled to
leave a comment. I’ve bookmarked your site and shared this on Facebook.
